My disability is to remember stuff in my head. I like saying
a memory verse from the Bible. I like saying the memory verse from the Bible to
my teachers. I had this disability when I was a kid. I was adopted from Japan.
I was a small baby. I am still small, but I am an adult now. I had some hard
times when I was a little kid.
I have two brothers in my family. I have two parents. We
have a dog named Dexter. My brother’s names are Zac and Cameron, and my
parent’s names are Josie and Ted. We live in Chicago. We live in a suburb of
Chicago. The name of the suburb is Worth. It is called The Friendly Village.
My parents were looking at Shepherds College. I was looking at
another college, but it was a music college, but I didn’t like the music
college, then I decided to come here. In high school, I had some problems at
school. That is why I came to this college.
I have learned how to do chores and do laundry here. And we
go shopping on Mondays. We have fun buying our personal items. And after
shopping is done, we go for a treat.
My favorite class is Roots of Faith because the teacher is
fun. Sometimes we act the story out with costumes and it is fun. The first time
that we did this, my friends laughed a lot. In class, we do picture summaries
for us to remember what happened.

Maika! You did a great job telling your story and are brave to share it! God bless you!I love when you and your college mates write and share your stories with us. I have a daughter who is 22, she would love to be able to go to a college like yours!
