The Office: Our Students, God's Masterpiece

Today’s blog is written from the heart of Cathy Harvey, Administrative Assistant

We are shooting pictures for the 2013 calendar - the deadline is soon in order for it to be ready by year’s end.  As I looked through last year’s calendar “We are God’s Masterpiece” I paused to savor that very fact—that God Himself crafted each one of our students down to the tiniest microscopic detail.

He so carefully and so lovingly chose the color of their eyes,

the texture of their hair,

coordinated skin tones with hair color and eyes.

He chose how tall they would each be…

…and then He crafted the fine details of their strengths and abilities...

... and folded in His image like the Master Craftsman that He is.

The variety of human faces never ceases to amaze me.  We all have 2 eyes, a nose and a mouth and yet we all look so different from each other!

I can hardly wait for the new calendar.  I love to see the variety our Marketing and Development departments produce every year.

Below is a beautiful quote by Joni Eareckson Tada about this very subject. An artist friend of mine saw it in a book and said she just had to illustrate it, so she crafted it in the form of card for me, in detailed drawings and perfect hand lettering.  It means so much to me to think about how God thinks of each one of us and our students.
